What's new for 2008 ...
Elakah Expeditions has joined forces with the Bellingham Bay Community Boating Center. This advantageous alliance will help both of these two great organizations to provide high quality sea kayak instruction and tours at the most reasonable rates possible. Because of this, you will note the that cost for our half-day tours and instructionals have not only not increased this year, but decreased in price! It is our hope that we can now introduce the sport of sea kayaking to more folks, regardless of income, age or ability. Here are some of the exciting new programs for 2008:
- Nightly Sunset Paddle Tours on Bellingham Bay - Drop in any evening (Wednesday to Sunday) for a 3 hour kayak tour, enjoying the calm winds and beautiful sunsests on Bellingham Bay. We recommend that you call ahead to be sure that there is a spot for you and your family and friends, but you can also just drop on down to the Bellingham Bay Community Boating Center in Fairhaven. This guided tour begins each night at 6 pm with some education on the basics of sea kayaking and paddling, and then we will hit the water to view eagles, herons, seals, loons, and (weather permitting) a beautiful sunset. These brand new excursions are introductory priced at $45/person. Call 360-734-7270 to reserve your spot, or take your chances and just show up a little before 6 pm. - "Gato Verde" Mothership Sail and Paddle Tours - This is your chance to experience something completely new and exciting for the San Juan Islands. Come join Elakah staff and the crew of the Gato Verde in a fun and relaxing Sailing and Kayaking expedition thoughout the most remote and beautiful parts of the San Juan Islands.
